Surprisingly easy to do. Almost all of the diff resolution was mechanically
* replacing boost::variant with std::variant
* replacing Optional with std::optional
* then replacing `nullopt` with `std::nullopt`
* updating the RPC functions for the new RPCArg::Default type
* update the tests/ directory to make new (since 22) tests use arrays for
createrawtransaction outputs
* other ad-hoc changes to function parameters etc (not too many of these)
I had to "really" change the code in PrecomputePSBTData, which was introduced
in 22.0 and affected by PSET, but this function was like 8 lines long so it
was easy.
Reviewing the diff may be a bit difficult because of the mix of mechanical
changes and ad-hoc things. Probably the most straightforward thing to do
is to redo the merge, `sed -i` to fix the boost::variant and Optional stuff,
then diff the remaining conflicts against this commit.
TODO: grep for `blindpsbt` and you will see that this RPC is still referenced
in documentation and help text even though it was deleted. Need to fix this
in 0.21 in a separate PR.
Currently addrman consistency checks are a compile time option, and are not
enabled in our CI. It's unlikely anyone is running these consistency checks.
Make them a runtime option instead, where users can enable addrman
consistency checks every n operations (similar to mempool tests). Update
the addrman unit tests to do internal consistency checks every 100
operations (checking on every operations causes the test runtime to
increase by several seconds).
Also assert on a failed addrman consistency check to terminate program
execution.
Leaving the incorrect indentation would be frustrating because:
* Some editor may fix up the whitespace when editing a file, so before
commiting the whitespace changes need to be undone.
* It makes it harder to use clang-format-diff on a change.
Can be trivially reviewed with --word-diff-regex=. --ignore-all-space
Includes a memory leak in the checkqueue unit test (but not in
the actual code). WE really need to switch our checkqueue to use
std::unique_pointer rather than bare pointers. But this would be
invasive enough that I want to do it in a followup PR.
Also pretty-much disable the validation_flush_cache unit test.
This is a stupid and irritating test which tries to unit-test
exact memory usage of std containers. It already has at least
one "remove wrong assumptions" update upstream and after many
tries I was unable to change all the magic numbers in a way
that'd consistently pass CI for Elements.
Also adds a couple ubsan suppressions about perfectly-legitimate
conversions of integer types.

This moves header size and netmagic checking out of net_processing and
into net. This check now runs in ReadHeader, so that net can exit early
out of receiving bytes from the peer. IsValid is now slimmed down, so
it no longer needs a MessageStartChars& parameter.
Additionally this removes the rest of the m_valid_* members from
CNetMessage.
This commit removes the single-parameter contructor of CMessageHeader
and replaces it with a default constructor.
The single parameter contructor isn't used anywhere except for tests.
There is no reason to initialize a CMessageHeader with a particular
messagestart. This messagestart should always be replaced when
deserializing an actual message header so that we can run checks on it.
The default constructor initializes it to zero, just like the command
and checksum.
This also removes a parameter of a V1TransportDeserializer constructor,
as it was only used for this purpose.
