In this commit, we move btcd past the v0.26.1 release candidate and set
the development version to v0.26.2-beta. This keeps the daemon and RPC
server version on the next patch series as work resumes on master.
In this commit, we bump btcd from v0.26.0-beta to
v0.26.1-beta.rc1 for the next release candidate. This puts the version
reported by the daemon and RPC server in sync with the release series
prepared by this PR.
In this commit, we include periods in the alphabet accepted by
normalizeVerString. SemVer uses periods to separate pre-release identifiers,
but the old filter silently collapsed beta.rc1 into betarc1.
We add a focused test for the dotted RC suffix before using it for the next
release candidate.
In this commit, we strip all of the local `replace ... => ../...`
directives that were introduced as part of #1825 (the v2 module
restructuring), now that proper tags exist for every freshly carved-out
submodule. Every in-tree go.mod is pinned to the newly published tags:
chainhash/v2.0.0, wire/v2.0.0, chaincfg/v2.0.0, address/v2.0.0,
txscript/v2.0.0, btcutil/v2.0.0, psbt/v2.0.0, and btcec is bumped to
v2.5.0 since it now depends on chainhash/v2 (previously
chaincfg/chainhash).
While here, we also unify the Go toolchain to 1.25 across every
submodule so the workspace resolves a consistent set of language
features.
Finally, we bump the main btcd version to v0.26.0-beta.rc1 in
preparation for the upcoming release candidate.
This commit modifies the way the data paths are handled. Since there will
ultimately be more data associated with each network than just the block
database, the data path has been modified to be "namespaced" based on the
network. This allows all data associated with a specific network to
simply use the data path without having to worry about conflicts with data
from other networks.
In addition, this commit renames the block database to "blocks" plus a
suffix which denotes the database type. This prevents issues that would
otherwise arise if the user decides to use a different database type and
a file/folder with the same name already eixsts but is of the old database
type. For most users this won't matter, but it does provide nice
properties for testing and development as well since it makes it easy to
go back and forth between database types.
This commit also includes code to upgrade the old database paths to the
new ones so the change is seamless for the user.
Finally, bump the version to 0.2.0.
